Type of Numbers | Operation | Result | Example |

Positive + Positive | Add | Positive (+) | 10 + 15 = 25 |

Negative + Negative | Add | Negative (-) | (-10) + (-15) = -25 |

Positive + Negative | Subtract | put the sign of the greater number | (-10) + 15 =5 |

Negative + Positive | Subtract | put the sign of the greater number | 10 + (-15)= -5 |

__Addition of Integers__

**Positive integer + Negative integer**

- Example: (+5) + (-2) Subtract: 5 – 2 = +3 (Sign of bigger integer)
- Example: (-5) + (2) Subtract: 5-2 = -3 (Sign of bigger integer)

**Positive integer + Positive integer**

- Example: (+5) + (+2) = +7

**Negative integer + Negative integer**- Example: (-5) + (-2) = -7
- Add the two integers and add the negative sign.

**Subtraction of integers**

In subtraction of integers also there are three possibilities-

- Subtraction between two positive numbers. eg 8-6 = 2
- Subtraction between two negative numbers. eg -8-(-6) = -8+6= -2
- Subtraction between a positive number and a negative number. eg-8+6= -2
